Flowstone

In this project, we have the unique opportunity to self-initiate and pitch on the diverse themes and sites that best benefit our immediate needs as a community at large while balancing with the need to conserve and appropriately allocate resources. We will mine existing abandoned, misused, underdeveloped buildings and their interiors for living spaces that represent the potential catalysts for rapid change. We are required to research on the United Nation 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and are required to determine 2 goals that we will be working towards to create an Interior architectural design solution. The new function of the refined building will bring value to the chosen space, considering its history and location in the urban context.

Concept

The concept that I had chosen for this was to use the elements found in the cave to design the main details of the interior architectural. From the name of the project, flowstone is actually chemical deposits found on the ceilings and walls of the cave. Hence, I decided to use the organic shape of it to create the main details of the ceilings, walls and even furniture relating to human ergonomics.
